What in the World Are We Doing?

LOCALLY

St. Pauly Shed

The St. Pauly clothing donation shed, located in the church parking lot, is always open and ready for donations!  If you have used clothing that needs a new home, just bring it and put it in the bin.

We receive clothing of any type, in any condition, wearable or not, as well as boots and shoes, blankets, bedding, and stuffed animals.

We receive payment for all donated items.  We have established a scholarship program and 100% of the proceeds from the shed are placed in the Scholarship Fund and distributed each Spring.

Since the inception of the program, the church has awarded $8,200.00 to four recipients to enable them to pursue their educational goals.

Your old clothes are helping to send people to college!

Your donations will be appreciated.  A complete list of acceptable (and unwanted) items is posted on the shed.

FREE

Community Lunch

Every third Thursday of each month everyone is invited to join us at the church at 12:00 noon for a delicious FREE lunch, prepared and served by our great team of cooks.

The menu varies from month to month, but two things remain constant:  the quality of the food we serve, from baked haddock to beef stew, chicken parm to roast turkey, along with seasonal vegetables and a variety of delicious desserts and the wonderful fellowship enjoyed by our guests.

People come from all over:  Amesbury, Danville, Epping, Exeter, Plaistow, and Fremont to enjoy the meal.  No one ever goes away hungry or unsatisfied.

It is FREE to all, but we will accept your donation in any amount, should you desire to contribute.

And, if you know someone shut-in, elderly, or recently home from surgery please, by all means, take a meal home to that person.

The goal is to see that everyone gets a good, nutritious meal, at least once in a while, so please join us.

Summer Concert Series

We love music, so every summer we produce a five-week outdoor concert series, presented on the lawn behind the church.  Concerts are held every other Saturday evening, from the end of June through the middle of August, beginning at 7:00 pm each night.  Each show lasts about an hour.

It’s not necessarily a Gospel concert series.  Rather, we bring in artists from a broad spectrum of genres for the entertainment of all.

Admission to the concert is FREE, but we do “pass the hat” each night to help offset the cost.  FREE refreshments are served following each performance.

Bring your own beach chair or blanket, or use one of ours, but please come and join in the fun.  And we NEVER cancel!  In the unlikely event of rain, we simply move indoors.

2023 Concert Schedule

June 24: Reunion Hill Band  (bluegrass)

July 8:  The Sound of the Seacoast (female barbershop ensemble)

July 22:  Jackie Lee (folk pop vocalist/guitar)

 August 5: Wanderheart (Modern Gospel)

August 19:  The Funky Divas of Gospel  (Gospel and pop/folk)

Food Pantry

At First Baptist Church we do our best to respond to the Biblical mandate to feed the hungry and clothe the naked.

Our food pantry, while small, is constantly being replenished by donations of both cash and non-perishable food, enabling us to have canned and boxed goods readily on hand to help those in need.

If you are in need, please stop by.  The Pantry is accessible 24/7 for your convenience.  No appointment is necessary.  Please take what you need.

On the other hand, if you are donating, please place your items in the blue box under the table so we can log them in before putting them out.

Whether you are leaving donations or accessing the Pantry for your needs, may God continue to bless your life!

American Red Cross Donation Site

First Baptist Church is proud of our partnership with the American Red Cross.  We are grateful to provide space for monthly blood drives.

Alcoholics Anonymous

We provide space for A.A. meetings each Sunday evening, beginning at 6:00 pm.  These meetings are sanctioned by the national governing body of Alcoholics Anonymous and are open to any who struggle with issues of alcohol use and abuse.

Grief Share

Grief Share is for people grieving the death of a family member or friend. We understand that there are other losses in life that create feelings of grief. You might be experiencing a job loss, a divorce, estrangement from a child, or the loss of friends because of a move. This grief is real, but it is not the kind of grief discussed in GriefShare sessions. We encourage you to ask a pastor, counselor, or church leader for help in finding resources that will be of specific help in your situation. If you are going through separation or divorce, please consider participating in a DivorceCare program. (Griefshare.org)
