Yesterday, while working in my orchard, I noticed that my cherries are nowhere near ready to be harvested.

At this time last year I had already picked several quarts.

Perhaps it was the “late” Spring, but something has kept my cherries from sizing up and changing to a nice deep, pickable red.

That’s not unlike some people that we know: maybe that younger brother who, even close to forty, hasn’t quite matured yet, or your eldest child, who went all through Sunday school, but never accepted Jesus, or your co-worker, older than yourself, but such a lost, sorry soul.

Don’t despair. II Peter 3:9 reminds us, “The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.”

Keep on praying for that recalcitrant non-believer. God will hear. God will answer. Blessings will come. Pastor Jim.
