Spiritual maturity: some people have it; others don’t.
Sadly, some don’t even know what it is.
Spiritual maturity means to be “grown up” in Christ, to have developed a faith deep and sufficient enough to trust Him in all circumstances of life.
Spiritual maturity has nothing to do with being in church every Sunday, or how well or loudly you sing. It has nothing to do with the amount you put in the offering plate or how frequently you volunteer to perform various tasks around the church Monday through Saturday.
Spiritual maturity is all about your relationship with God through Jesus Christ. It has everything to do with how closely you have come to know Him, how deeply you abide in Him and in His promises for your life.
Spiritual maturity is the result of the effort you put into your faith.
In I Peter 2: 2-3 we read, “Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, now that you have tasted that the Lord is good.”
Spiritual maturity: it’s why some people don’t fold under the pressure of daily life.
If you don’t have it, it can be yours if you seek diligently the mind of God through prayer, Bible reading and association with others, but it will never be yours if you do none of these. Pastor Jim.
