“The devil made me do it.” That’s a glib excuse sometimes used in a vain attempt to justify bad behavior.

Sometimes it’s just intended to be funny, but in reality making light of the devil is no joke–there are evil spirits, dark powers in the world, and they do threaten to side- track your life.

Think about it: just when things are going good, when you are beginning to see some positive results because of your belief in Jesus, the bottom falls out: you have trouble at work or your car requires major repairs–something happens to throw you off track.

Is it just coincidence? The truth of it is that the devil, Satan, does not like the “new you”, the one spiritually awake and reliant upon Christ, so he tries to throw a monkey wrench into your life, to foul you up and being you back into his dark camp.

“But the Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen and protect you from the evil one.” II Thessalonians 3:3.

On your knees in prayer then, and God will keep you safe and strong. Evil in any form cannot prevail against our Mighty God, so hang in there! Pastor Jim.
