What makes a vocal group sound great? Is it the soloist or the back-up singers? Maybe a combination of both.

Gladys Knight is a great singer, but try listening to “Midnight Train to Georgia” without the Pips. Or anything sung by Diana Ross, without the Supremes, or Elvis without the Jordonaires.

The list goes on and on. It’s the same in the church; not everyone is called to be a leader; the people performing service in the background are every bit as important.

Working together as one body of believers we can accomplish great things for God and it takes both leaders and followers to make that happen.

Paul wrote, “Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord.” (Ephesians 5:19)

What a blessing we can be to God when we sing, pray and work together.

Whatever your role, however you see yourself in His church, as we work together we create a glorious melody–for His glory. Pastor Jim.
