Yesterday, in a special session, the NH Legislature approved millions of dollars to support DCYF. That’s a good thing; the funds will help the agency in its efforts to help families and children currently in crisis. However, this money will do absolutely nothing to prevent new families and children from needing their services. The only real way to prevent child abuse, alcohol abuse and drug abuse is to turn to the Lord and let Him guide your life. Abuse is the devil’s tool. Scripture teaches “Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.” James 4:7. Treatment is great for those who need it, but prevention, through faith in a living Savior, may very well ensure that you never need treatment.
