“May Day! May Day!” Remember those old WWII movies starring Van Johnson, Errol Flynn or Clark Gable as intrepid aviators whose engines have failed or whose planes have been shot up and they are trying to make a safe landing? Remember? Sometimes they made it, sometimes they crashed, but it all made for some really great movies. In real life we sometimes cry out, “May Day! May Day!” too, but who is there to hear and help? The Lord is nearby: “I lift my eyes to the hills–where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.” Psalm 121: 1-2. If you are crying out “May Day!
