According to today’s forecast, we are under a “threat of rain” today. That’s an interesting choice of words, isn’t it?

Why do we consider rain to be a threat when we are in such desperate need of it to green our grass and help our flowers grow?

Instead of feeling threatened, we should be glad for the possibility of precipitation to help lessen the risk of wildfires, help the garden and the lawn.

It’s no different in life. We want to sail through every day without difficulty and we curse and fuss when things go against us. James (1:2-3) wrote, “Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance.”

Difficulties, like rain, are not always bad, for they help us to develop character, so rejoice in those troubles and give them to God in prayer, then watch, and see how He blesses you. Pastor Jim.
