The phone rings. You check caller ID and see it is a local exchange, so you answer. The guy calling says he represents the policeman’s union or fire association and he is collecting money to support them. Blah, blah, blah.
You’ve heard it all before. It’s likely a scam. Hang up!
Scammers are everywhere these days, using all sorts of techniques to take advantage of you and to steal your identity or your hard-earned money.
They are pretty creative–imagine what positive things they could accomplish if they used their energy for good, rather than evil purposes!
Beware of the scammers. Beware also those people who would turn your heart and mind away from God. Beware of those who would try to convince you that Jesus didn’t exist, or that He didn’t rise from the dead, or that your faith doesn’t matter. Resist. Resist. Resist.
Remember always that Jesus is “the way, the truth and the life.” He taught His disciples that “you will know the truth and the truth will set you free.” John 8:32.
Remember this and stand strong in the faith. You will be richly blessed. Pastor Jim.
