The weatherman says it’s going to snow today and you know what that means: the grocery stores will be crowded; people scurrying around for last minute supplies–a loaf of bread, a gallon of milk.

Some will check that they have enough gas for the snowblower, while others make sure the shovel is right by the door.

It makes sense to be prepared for what we know will surely come. Are you as prepared to weather life’s storms?

Things like a layoff from work, unanticipated serious illness, the sudden loss of a spouse–are you prepared to weather those?

Do you have a reserve of faith that you can call upon when times get hard and life turns against you?

Many years ago, the prophet Isaiah spoke and encouraged people to “Seek the Lord while He may be found; call on Him while He is near.” (Isaiah 55:6), so while you prepare for today’s snow storm, don’t forget to make ready for life’s other storms as well.

The Lord is just a prayer away; He is waiting for you to call and He will never let you down. Pastor Jim.
