What do people fear most of all?

Death. The fear of dying and what happens after we die, yet death is a common denominator for each of us.

Still, many believe that they won’t make it into Heaven because they weren’t good enough in life; mistakes and selfishness will keep the gates of Heaven closed to them.

Others fear death because they see it as an unknown, and who really wants to walk unarmed into the darkest of rooms?

People’s fear of death can often be irrational, almost paralyzing, but it need not be so.

Romans 6: 8-9 should bring comfort to the fearful: “Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with Him. For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, He cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over Him.”

That should bring comfort, at least to those of us who believe in the saving work of our Lord.

For those who don’t believe, well, I think you have good reason for your fear. Pastor Jim.
