Many people do not approve of the concept of “religion.”

They see it as something it is not intended to be: a set of rules to follow; a list of things to do and not to do.

Those folks don’t believe in living a religious life, because they see it as too restrictive, with its regulations that they do not wish to follow.

But is that what “religion” truly is?

Read this, from the book of James (1:27) and make your own decision: “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.”

Doesn’t sound like a bunch of rules and regulations to me, but more an injunction to help those in need, while keeping your own head above the water of evil.

It’s all about what is deep in your heart–whether you are willing to give aid to your neighbor or not and whether you are willing to live a life more Godly than the person nearby.

That’s religion, at least according to what the Bible says.

It’s up to you, whether you will live as God desires you will. Pastor Jim.
