Every so often I hear it: “Sure, I believe in God, but I’m not so sure about that Jesus guy. Believing in God is good enough for me.”
How sad, because that person is missing the boat. Yes, belief in God is important; it is the beginning point of faith, but what brings salvation is belief in Jesus.
I Peter 1: 21 is very clear: “Through him (Jesus) you believe in God, who raised Him from the dead and glorified Him, and so your faith and hope are in God.”
Faith apart from Jesus Christ is incomplete; it is He who gave His life upon the cross, shedding His blood so that your sins may be forgiven.
Unless you bend your knee to Him and ask Him into your life as Savior you will be earth-bound; belief in Jesus is what punches your ticket for heaven, because He has paid your fare. Pastor Jim.
