A difficult emotion to overcome is that of unworthiness. On the one hand we see ourselves as having great value in the world.

We believe we are the best: parents, friends, employees, cooks–whatever it is, we like to see ourselves as being in the top tier.

Except in spiritual matters: in those we fall flat. It’s not that people don’t believe in God or in salvation through the sacrificial death of Jesus upon the cross.

Rather, people feel themselves unworthy of His sacrifice; that what they have done in life is so bad that God has turned His back upon them and will never forgive them.

Not so. God loves each of us in spite of who we are or what we have done, or failed to do.

“We had to speak the word of God to you first. Since you reject it and do not consider yourselves worthy of eternal life, we now turn to the Gentiles.” Acts 14:46.

Don’t believe that you are unworthy. The Word is for you, and so is His grace. Pastor Jim.
