I drove through my old hometown late yesterday afternoon and was surprised to see that a landmark home, a house built of stone, was recently razed and replaced by a conventional, stick-built ranch style house. That sturdy stone house had stood for decades; I remember it well from my youth, but now things have changed and the stone house is no more; it is gone forever. I’m grateful that I believe in a God who never changes, a Lord who always remains faithful to His Word and to His people. Hebrews 13:8 teaches us that “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever.” What a wonderful comfort that is in an ever-changing world.
