It’s easy to be hard-hearted, easy to develop a grudge, to write off that guy who has let you down time and again.

It’s easy to turn your back and walk away, justifying yourself by saying, “I did everything I could.”

The easy thing is to simply shut others out, but easy isn’t always right.

The Lord puts a variety of people in our paths, oftentimes to help us see the differences between us and, ultimately, to help us grow in our faith.

In Ephesians 4: 31-32 Paul says, “Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.”

You can’t really accept God’s forgiving love unless you are willing to offer the same to those who have offended you.

It’s time to get over yourself, your hurt feelings and bruised ego.

Recognize that maybe, just maybe, the other guy has a point from his perspective. Life is too short to bear a grudge.

Cut him some slack because God cut you some. Pastor Jim.
