“Choose my instruction instead of silver, knowledge rather than choice gold, for wisdom is more precious than rubies, and nothing you desire can compare with her.” Proverbs 8: 10-11.

Sounds quaint and old fashioned, doesn’t it? To pursue wisdom rather than worldly riches. Why, just think of all the great things gold and silver will buy you! Imagine that treasure trove of rubies hidden away in your home!

That’s fine, except a f ire could destroy your home and take those possessions with it.

Illness could strike and take away your ability to enjoy your treasure.

Without wisdom you might make some very foolish decisions and lose all that you have worked so hard to gain.

Wisdom. You really can’t do any better. Wisdom to know when to go to the doctor, what to say at the right time, and when to not speak at all.

Wisdom is to know God and to know God should be the highest pursuit of all,for the knowledge of God leads us to salvation and salvation to eternal life.

So choose wisely what you will pursue today. Pastor Jim.
