Let’s look back for a moment and consider how the year was for you.
Were you well? Did you keep ahead of the bills? Everything ok with the family? How about your spiritual life? Were your prayers answered?
I hope that 2018 was a good year for you and that we, looking ahead to 2019, can anticipate a fruitful, healthy year.
One way to assure this is to follow the admonition of Paul in I Thessalonians 5: 16-18, “Be joyful always; pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
You might not get all you want in the coming year; you might come to know hardship and loss, but if you follow Paul’s advice to be joyful, to pray and be thankful your life will be great because, as he said, to do these things is “God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
If you remain in His will rather than in your own willfulness, He will bless your days and nights. Pastor Jim.
