It was so quiet and still when I rose this morning–not a breath or air, not even birds chirping outside my open window. No noise of traffic rushing by. Just quiet. Before the telephone starts ringing and the household chores need to be done, before someone knocks at the door, It was a great time to simply thank God for all that He has done for me, all of the blessings that He has provided by His love. Before facing the crucifixion Jesus told His disciples (John14:27), “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” As He faced the horror of death on the cross, Jesus did so with a profound sense of peace. Knowing that, can you face whatever comes your way today with any less of a sense of peace? He is with you. Be blessed by His presence today. Pastor Jim.
