When it comes to earning a living, we live in a performance based, experience based world.
Many employers work on a “merit system,” where employees are compensated according to their job performance–the better the work, the greater the pay.
Others pay according to longevity–the longer you’ve been on the job, the more you earn in salary and benefits.
These methods may be fine in the workplace, but not in God’s world: “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith–and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God–not by works, so that no one can boast.” Ephesians 2: 8-9
Our place in heaven is secured by belief in Him, and by no other means. It doesn’t matter how much you give, how much you do or how much you say–what matters is that you love God and accept His Son as your Savior.
