Don’t get over it, get even! Ouch! Revenge is a terrible motive. A revenge mentality causes us to not think clearly, but to let the fact that we have been wronged blind us to what is right.

In Ephesians 4:32 Paul pleaded with his audience to “be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ, God forgave you.”

That’s the key right there: forgiving someone who has wronged you simply because you yourself have been forgiven by God.

If we are unwilling to forgive others, why then should God be willing to forgive us?

The next time you’ve been wronged and decide to plan some revenge, keep this verse in mind. Forgive that other person, regardless of what he/she has done to you, because what that person has done to you is no worse than any bad thing you have done toward God.

Forgive because you have been forgiven. Pastor Jim.
