“Cut me some slack, will you?” That’s a cry we all utter at one time or another; the request for others to forgive our errors, overlook our forgetfulness or just give us more time.

Sometimes we do, other times we don’t. It is when we fail to give the other person a break that we forget our own humanity–today the other person asks for mercy; tomorrow we might be the one asking.

A lovely and inexpensive gift you can give to someone this Christmas is the gift of mercy–cut someone some slack when they have disappointed you.

It’s a Biblical thing to do. In the book of James (2:13) we are taught that “judgement without mercy will be shown to anyone who has not been merciful.”

If you expect to receive mercy, you must first be prepared to render mercy to someone else. Keep that in mind. Pastor Jim.
