“That’s enough. I don’t want to hear anymore. Move on!”

Have you ever gotten that kind of sharp rebuke when trying to share the Gospel with a friend, family member or co-worker?

Like kids back in the “good old days” some folks don’t want to take their medicine, no matter how good it is for them. But just like that dose of castor oil was good for them then, hearing the news of Christ’s love is good for them now.

Some people though, fearing that they might have to change their way of life, just don’t want to listen. They are happy in their ignorance and in the man-made philosophy that, if they do nothing too wrong somehow God will give them a pass in the next life. It’s a really dangerous belief, especially in light of what Paul wrote to Timothy (II Tim 4:3):

“For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.”

The truth is God’s Word, not man’s thinking. If one person won’t listen, move on to the next person and leave the first for someone else’s witness. Just don’t let a deaf ear or two keep you from sharing your faith. Someone will hear and when they do both you and the listener will be blessed. Pastor Jim.
