Another Saturday and, probably, another cookout. The weather’s been great all summer and it’s fun to have family and friends around.
But it’s all about the attitude that you bring that makes those family times great or a real burden.
In Proverbs 15:17 the writer says, “Better a meal of vegetables where there is love than a fattened calf with hatred.”
You can truly enjoy a modest lifestyle if your heart is filled with God’s love–for yourself, for God, for others, or you can struggle through your days, feeding your mind with thoughts of vengeance, anger and greed.
You can enjoy those family times by accepting those around you for who they are, rather than dwell on any past injustices or bad times that may have passed between you.
It’s all in how you want to live, and the choice is yours. Choose wisely and you will be blessed. Pastor Jim.
