Have you ever bought something such as an electronic device or new car, then started using it without reading the operating directions?

Today’s devices are so complicated that, to get the best result it’s a good idea to read the instructions, maybe more than once.

Failure to read and understand the directions could lead you to wrong use, or damaging the product or ruining it altogether, all because you didn’t take the time to learn how to use the item properly.

The Lord spoke to Joshua and told him the same thing (Joshua 1:8): “Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.”

God was speaking of the Old Testament; today we have both Old and New. The Old Testament led Joshua to be both “prosperous and successful.” Imagine what reading both Testaments, God’s instruction books, can do for you. Pastor Jim.
