Another week has passed and that disobedient, recalcitrant son of yours still hasn’t made peace–not with his family, nor with you, nor with God.
You worry about him and pray for him every day. You just can’t help wondering when he will come to his senses.
You are afraid he will self-destruct so you worry even more, and pray even more.
Slow down. Take it easy! I Peter 3:9 should give you some comfort: “The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.”
Keep praying, but stop worrying, for God’s will is that man’s redemption. He wants everyone to come to repentance.
The Lord is patient with us all–even those who seem the most distant from him. For some it just takes a bit more time. Pastor Jim.
