A lot of discussion this week has focused on Hurricane Florence and the need to be prepared. Residents along the Carolina coast have been advised to seek shelter inland, away from possible devastation.
There is a parallel between this big storm and our own lives. We too, when times become tough, need to know when and where to seek refuge, but our refuge is not a physical place but a spiritual one.
In Psalm 5:11 David says, “But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in you.”
As the hurricane hits we all hope for the safety of those in that area; when storms threaten your life, storms of strife, anger or poverty, take refuge in God. He will lead you through and keep you safe. Pastor Jim.
