You’ve heard the saying “good things come in small packages” I’m sure.

In that case, turn to the very small book of Philemon in the New Testament. Can’t find it? It’ right after Titus and just before Hebrews. Don’t blink or you’ll miss it!

Philemon is very brief, written by the Apostle Paul but it contains a bit of wisdom not expressed anywhere else in quite the same way.

Verse 7 says, “Your love has given me great joy and encouragement, because you, brother, have refreshed the hearts of the saints.”

Want to make your Pastor glad? Then put into practice what you have heard him teach. When a Pastor sees his people practicing their faith in real, practical ways, it energizes him and makes him desire to do more for his people, to the glory of God.

It’s a wonderful circle that just goes round and round: the Pastor teaches, the people hear, then put the teaching into practice, encouraging the Pastor to teach his people more, which they they take to heart in their relations with others, thus glorifying God and inspiring the Pastor to deeper teaching.

People are blessed. God is glorified. It’s all good. In fact, it’s all GREAT! Pastor Jim.
