“Pray continually.” (I Thessalonians 5: 17).

Just two words, but an encouragement we all need to hear.

But for what are we to pray? Do we pray for good health for ourselves and loved ones? How about wealth–lots of money in the bank?

Surely we want the best for ourselves and one another and we believe that God wants that too, so why not pray for those things?

For what should we be praying?

Above all, we should pray that God’s will be done in our lives. That is the teaching of the Lord’s Prayer: “Thy will be done.”

If we pray continually that we be conformed to God’s will, that His will be done in our lives, then everything else will fall into place..

We may be plagued by ill health, but we won’t consider it a tragedy, because we believe ourselves to be under God’s will.

We may never be wealthy, but it won’t matter, if we believe that His will is being accomplished in and through our poverty..

“Pray continually.” Pray that His will be done, in and through us. May peace be yours today! Pastor Jim.
