How often do you rip into that new box of electronics and start using the item without reading the manual? Or your child’s new toy–putting it together without first reading the instructions. You find that it doesn’t work quite the way you expected it to, or you have pieces left over and, ultimately, you have to sit down and read the book to get it right. Life can be like that, but God has given us an instruction book, the Bible, that we can follow as we seek to live lives that honor Him and live in peace with those around us. Joshua 1:8 teaches, “Do not let the book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.” God’s law is perfect; you will be blessed as you follow it, and Him as well. Have a blessed day as you consider this. Pastor Jim.
