Some people are so busy pestering the Lord, boasting about all of the great things they have accomplished in His Name, that they forget that He already knows.

He knows how much (or how little) you actually pray; He knows what was in your mind last Sunday during worship; he knows WHY you said what you said at that meeting.

God knows. He really doesn’t need to have us preening in front of Him. Our responsibility is to simply minister in His Name, in big ways and small. He will honor our work, and He will honor us, according to His desire, not our own.

II Corinthians 10:18 hits the nail on the head, saying, “For it is not the one who commends himself who is approved, but the one whom the Lord commends.”

Set aside your motive then, and honor God with your work simply because He is God, and most worthy. Pastor Jim.
