Our Beliefs & Values
At the First Baptist Church of Brentwood, we believe small churches are just the right size, big enough to make a difference, yet small enough to truly care. Here, you’re not just another face in the crowd; you’re part of a family where your presence matters.
When you worship with us, you’ll be warmly welcomed by friendly, caring people who value genuine connection. Our services blend traditional and contemporary music and share inspiring messages of hope, peace, and joy to uplift your spirit and strengthen your faith.
1.
We believe in the words of the Apostle Paul:
“There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all in all.” (Ephesians 4:5 -6)
2.
We believe in God the Creator, Jesus the Redeemer, and the Holy Spirit as Sustainer
3.
We believe no one is beyond the reach of God’s redeeming love, but that each person has personal responsibility to find his/her way to God.
4.
We believe Jesus came to earth fully man and fully God, to teach us the ways of God.
5.
We believe that, when we accept Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord our place in the heavenly Realm is secure.
6.
We believe that Jesus suffered and died on the cross for our sakes, but God, in a demonstration of His great power, raised Him from the dead.
7.
We believe that after Jesus rose, He later ascended to Heaven where He reigns until such time as He will return to gather all believers to himself.
8.
We believe that at some future time, each person must present him/herself to God, to be judged for actions in this life.
Covenant
Having been led, as we believe, by the Spirit of God, to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior and believing that God is the Creator of all mankind; we do hereby enter this Covenant with one another, as one body in Christ.
We engage, therefore, by the aid of the Holy Spirit, to walk together in Christian love, to strive for the advancement of this church, to attend its meeting of worship, to unite with one another in remembering our Lord at the Lord’s Supper and to contribute according to our ability toward the spread of the Gospel through our world.
We further engage to watch over one another in brotherly love, to remember each other in prayer, to aid each other in sickness and distress, and to cooperate in all our spiritual efforts to win our fellow men to Christ. This we do with the help of God.
We moreover engage that when we remove from this place we will affiliate with some other church where we can carry out the spirit of this Covenant and the principles of God’s Word.
